Where to go Fishing in North Wales

With over 84 miles of coastline if you want to go fishing in North Wales, this part of the world is your oyster!

Whether you like fishing in lakes, reservoirs or the sea, few places have the variety of fishing destinations that North Wales has to offer.

Sea Fishing in North Wales

Sea fishing is best practised on an organised trip. There are plenty of charter boats for hire with experienced, skilled skippers. In the harbour villages you can buy or hire fishing equipment and everything else you need for a successful trip.

If it is your first time out, you’ll find the boat crews happy to teach you and help. Here are some of the available charters:

Stingray Angling Charter, Boat House, Beach Road, Cemaes Bay

Basic reels and rods are supplied for amateurs and you’ll be fishing around the wrecks in deep waters. The boat trips cater for up to 8 and the crew will give free tips to anyone who might want them. Make sure you don’t forget to order bait when booking – call 01407 710 510 for more details and reservations.

Starida Puffin Island Cruises and Sea Fishing Trips, Starida Booking Kiosk, Beaumaris

The ultimate beginner family fishing experience is offered by Puffin Island Cruises and Sea Fishing Trips when they take you out into deep waters, fishing around the wrecks.  Trips last 2 hours or 3 hours and children must be 4 years of age to be on board.  Call 01248 810379 to find out more.

Fishing in Holyhead breakwater, Anglesey

Every year there is an angling competition in this location.  Anglesey is a fantastic area for all types of fishing. Check out the video below to see what you can catch here:

Llandudno Pier, Conwy River and Old Colwyn Beach

If the idea of deep sea fishing is overwhelming, Llandudno Pier and old Colwyn beach are great places to catch mackerel, dogfish and Pollock.  And salmon fishing is a must at Conwy River.

If you are considering buying a holiday home at Sirior Bach Caravan Park, these fishing destinations are within easy reach. Keep an eye on our blog for more posts about where to go fishing in North Wales.
