Events in North Wales during November

With the onset of winter just around the corner, the idea of cosying up on an autumnal evening in your holiday home sounds very inviting. If you are lucky enough to own a holiday lodge on one of the 12 month Caravan Parks in North Wales, or looking to buy one, there are many wonderful events in North Wales within easy travelling distance of Sirior Bach Caravan Park.  November is the time of bonfires, fireworks, and making plans for the Christmas season.

Here we offer some suggestions for family days out, adventurous motor sports and for the creatively minded during November 2015.

Wales Rally GB – 12 to 15 November
The legendary forests of Conwy, Flintshire, Snowdonia, Denbigshire and Powys, North Wales plays host to the concluding round of the Wales Rally GB championship. Commencing in Llandudno there’s a ceremonial start, stages and Rally Fest for all the family at Chirk Castle and a spectacular race on the Great Orme.

Brecon Beacons Ultra Marathon – 14 November
Become a spectator on this 46 mile mixed trail over road, mountain and canal run around the Brecon Beacons area where the weather conditions can be quite changeable. Unfortunately no further entrants are being accepted for the race, but watchers will be guaranteed an exhilarating view.

Children’s Literature Festival – 20 November
Join the author of the Tom Gates book, Liz Pichon, winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize in this special literary event to mark the beginning of Cardiff’s 4th Annual Literature Festival for Children being held next spring.

Royal Welsh Winter Fair – 30 November to 1 December
To be held at The Showground, Builth Wells, Powys, the programme of events offers many activities for all the family, judging of livestock, horses and poultry in the main arenas with floral art, handicrafts and produce being judged in South Glamorgan Hall.  Visit the Shopping Pavilion to make a start on your Christmas shopping.

Step Into Christmas in Cardiff – 12 November to 3 January
This event marks the beginning of the Christmas Celebrations in Cardiff City.  With a profusion of Christmas characters, join in the fun and see over 80 festive performances taking place in various locations around the city centre. See Kwazii and Captain Barnacles from the TV programme, The Octonauts, on the Hayes.

The reindeer parade will take place through the Cardiff Centre with Santa on his sleigh. There will be a final stop on St Mary Street, where they will remain in their pen until 7.30pm. Late night shopping begins from 14th November, as does the opening of Winter Wonderland on City Hall lawn, with Christmas Markets, Santa’s Grotto and Festive Street theatre events.

North Wales Choral Festival – 6 to 8 November
The Promenade, Llandudno, hosts one of the largest choral competitions in Wales, where choirs from Schools in the region compete on Friday 6th with The Male Voice, Ladies and Youth choirs on Saturday. Glittering Barbershop and Mixed choirs perform on Sunday. Please note as this event is very popular, advance tickets may be purchased from Venue Cymru.

The location of Sirior Bach Caravan Park is ideal for taking part in many of the suggested events throughout November. Should you wish for a more sedate, relaxing break in your holiday home here or in any of the other country parks in Wales, you are never far from stunning national parkland or beaches for a pleasant walk.

After your eventful day, go back to your Static Caravan or Holiday Lodge to relax after a busy day out and put your feet up with a steaming hot drink or a glass of wine.
